Leapcoderz at First Lego League (FLL)- Teams, Projects & Awards

First Lego League (FLL) Challenge is famous around the globe. Teams of students engage in research, problem solving, coding, and engineering–building and programming a LEGO MINDSTORMS robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. They also participate in a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem.

Though the audiences watches the teams playing the Robot Game at the challenge, the teams are judged on:

  • Core Values
  • Project
  • Robot Design

Our three dynamic teams participated in FLL-CARGO CONNECT (2021) and prepared and performed with these three equally important aspects of First Lego Challenge- the core values at heart.

Technoverse

Team Technoverse has some of the most creative, innovative and full of fun team members. Having spent more than 2 months for training at Leapcoderz, the team created some beautiful memories. The Technoverse never failed to impress the mentors with their hard work, innovative ideas and fun-filled moments. We learnt how the elements of Core Values like teamwork and fun made us more progressive and innovative.

Our Project- PODS

Our solution to the Last Mile predicament is Pods. The project solution is based on the Last Mile Transportation Problem. The Last mile is the transportation of a product of the final deliver destination. We chose this Problem because it directly related to the Cargo Connect theme and it was a huge problem in Transportation Delivery. Our solution to the Last Mile predicament is Pods. Pods are our solution to the Last Mile delivery issue. Pods solve the 4 main Last Mile Problems.

Awards-

Technoverse award

  • Innovation Project Award & Robot Performance
  • Robot Design Award (Regional championship FLL)

The Princeton Pythons

Some passionate & innovative minds came together to form The Princeton Pythons. The journey of innovation and discovery was full of fun. The team had a training of 2 months at Leapcoderz. The team worked hard to cover all aspects of core values- Discovery, Innovation, Teamwork & Fun. Team work is the secret behind our successful project. The team not only discovered a robust project but also created some fun-filled memories.

Together, we discovered a real life cargo problem with truck transportation. We did research about the problems and solutions of the transportation industry together as a group. We started by researching for a unique problem together with trucks. We found that a lot of accidents happen so we decided to work to solve this problem. With our imagination and working together and helping each other we got this unique problem and came up with the unique solution of Python Shipping Project.

Our Project- Autonomous trucks.

The problem of delays in shipping and package theft is growing larger and larger every day. Shipping companies cause many delays in package delivery: Additionally, packages left on doorsteps are easy to steal and are not secure. We want to solve these problems! Our solution consists of autonomous smart delivery trucks and a secure locker system in each neighborhood. Autonomous trucks are fully automated cars and trucks that drive us, instead of us driving them. “The biggest impact autonomous trucks will have is cost savings and efficiency,“ says Patrick Penfield, a professor of supply chain practice at Syracuse University in the US.

The MARSSHians

The MARSShians started robotics training around 2 months ago with a group of students who didn’t know each other before. When the videos came out, the team was excited about this year’s initiative, Cargo Connect. the team held multiple brainstorming sessions for the aspects of Innovation, Impact, and Discovery for Core Values. The team had lots of fun.

Our team is named The MARSSHians, which is an acronym for the first letter of the names of all our team members. It is our first year competing in FLL. We started robotics training around 2 months ago, and we have been learning in total for around 4 months with Leap Coderz. When the videos came out, We were excited about this year’s initiative, Cargo Connect. After we got a bit into FLL, we started researching problems and innovative solutions. Also, our coaches helped us a lot when we were stuck. In addition, we held multiple brainstorming sessions for the aspects of Innovation, Impact, and Discovery for Core Values. We had lots of fun as a team every session, and we have always come up with decisions collaboratively and included everyone’s ideas. We did research about the problems and solutions of the transportation industry together as a group.

Our Project-GLADSS – Global Advanced Drone Security System

Together, we discovered a real life cargo problem with truck transportation.
